Truly one of the best drummers out there, with an unmatched ability to play almost any song
Sina Doering, a talented musician from Germany, discovered her love for music at an early age, especially for drumming. Born in 1999, she launched her YouTube channel in 2013, where she started sharing videos of herself performing with “drumless” backing tracks.
Dire Straits stand out as one of the most prominent bands from the seventies and eighties, making their songs widely recognized. While it might seem that “Sultans of Swing” no longer holds any surprises, master drummer Sina had a different experience.
Her interpretation of the drum section from this iconic song has refreshed it for Dire Straits enthusiasts and introduced their music to a younger audience. Each beat is meticulously executed, and her passionate playing shines through. Sina demonstrates a level of skill and accuracy that typically requires years to develop. Listen to her version here and prepare to be amazed.
She appears to have a natural talent, evident in how she transforms the song without the original drum track into something uniquely hers. While she acknowledges it’s not a direct replica of the original, her ability to personalize a track distinguishes exceptional musicians from the merely good ones.
Sina was born in Marburg, Germany, to musically inclined parents. Her mother plays the piano and enjoys singing, though she doesn’t perform professionally. Her father is a professional musician who works both live and in the studio. When Sina was just two years old, she joined him on tour with a Beatles tribute band, which clearly sparked her enduring passion for music.
In 2010, Sina’s father purchased a drum kit with the intention of recording live drum tracks for his music. However, he couldn’t play the drums himself, prompting Sina to take up the challenge. Within a year, she had honed her skills enough to feature on a professional recording.
Sina continued collaborating with her father until 2010, when she started her YouTube channel, aptly named Sina-Drums. Initially, she covered numerous well-known songs, quickly gaining popularity. However, seeking more creative fulfillment, she aimed to develop her own unique style. Fortunately, her father is a songwriter, and together they worked on her debut album, the Chi Might Project. She collaborated with musicians worldwide to ensure the tracks were as comprehensive as possible.
With this achievement, Sina sought to further enhance her drumming abilities. She completed a year of rigorous training at the Drummers Institute in Krefeld. During her studies, she continued to produce original music and shared it on YouTube. Upon graduating with a diploma, she had amassed enough live performances to contribute to her second album, Chi Might II.
Since then, Sina has released two additional albums, and her YouTube subscriber count continues to rise, now reaching 1.37 million, alongside 312,000 Facebook followers. Still young, Sina has not yet married or started a family, choosing instead to focus on her music and live performances. Her net worth is estimated at $1.5 million, which is impressive for someone under twenty-five. Keep an eye on this gifted young artist, as there’s much more to come.
